Floating Beam Christoph De Boeck 2017

Floating Beam refers to a world under stress as it captures the acoustic emissions arising from corrosion in a 20th century icon of steel, the supporting beam. Listening to the internal activity of solid structures reveals the transformatory nature of infrastructure, we could call it a metastability. A monolith animated with the sound of its own demise.

Co-produced by Overtoon and Netwerk Center for Contemporary Art
