Davide Tidoni is a researcher in the field of sound and listening. With a particular emphasis on observation, action and participation, he realizes a variety of works that include site specific interventions and live performances as well as audio projects, videos, and listening workshops. He has presented his work at: Tsonami Festival – Valparaiso (2016), Dotolim – Seoul (2016), iMAL – Brussels (2016), ARGOS, Centre for Arts and Media – Brussels (2015), AFO ArchitectureForumUpperAustria – Linz (2013), In the Field Symposium, British Library – London (2013), Field Studies, Faculty of Architecture and Spatial Design, London Metropolitan University – London (2012), STEIM – Amsterdam (2012), Ars Electronica – Linz (2011), Tuned City – Tallinn (2011), and the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Exeter (2009).
During his residency at Overtoon Davide will test, develop and write down a series of listening exercises to be used in his Listening/Intervention workshop. In order to test the exercises, a series of public try-outs and performances will be organized in both indoor and outdoor spaces. The research period at Overtoon will contribute to the realization of the first draft of a manual that includes a complete list of written exercises and prose scores to be published in 2016/2017.
