Lotte Nijsten & Gillis Van der Wee
Landforms is the sound collective of Gillis Van Der Wee and Lotte Nijsten.
Their practice draws from the sonic qualities of in-between spaces: peripheral zones where hidden entanglements become audible. Together, they shape possible sonic worlds — spaces that extend beyond the physical landscape to explore its often invisible dimensions. Drawing from their shared field recording practice, they create electro-acoustic compositions, sound installations and experimental radio pieces.
Lotte and Gillis’ works are featured on national and international radio stations, festivals, museums, and theaters, and were selected for multiple distinctions, including: Best radiofiction (Prix Europa, 2020), Prix Découvert Pierre Schaeffer (Phonurgia Nova, 2022), Best sound composition (Week van de Klank, 2022) and Best music composition (Bozart, 2018).
Their most recent electro-acoustic piece, Liquid Polyphonies, was presented at Radiophrenia (Scotland, 2025), On Air On Sight (Netherlands, 2025) and Resonance FM (UK, 2025). In september 2025 they will present the site-specific installation ‘Concrete Studies I’ during STUK START in STUK.
